Trophy Premium Lager and Grand Malt, two high quality brands brewed by International Breweries Plc and Pabod Breweries Limited (subsidiaries of SABMiller Plc in Nigeria) respectively were recently honored with the International Monde Selection awards for quality in the gold category. The Monde Selection is an international award which recognizes the taste and quality of brands from across the globe using critical evaluation by an independent jury.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of International Breweries Plc, Mr. Carlos Gomes, the award for Trophy Lager is well deserved. “This Monde gold award truly reinforces the fact that Trophy Lager is brewed to international quality standard”. He further explained that the premium quality of Trophy Lager is achieved through a thorough brewing process using the highest quality ingredient and world class equipment by well trained and committed staff.
Also speaking on the award, the Chief Brewer of the SABMiller group of businesses in Nigeria, Mr. Ray De Power stated that the company’s adherence to reliable quality assurance has earned these two brands the deserved recognition. In his words “we conduct critical analysis of all our ingredients in all our plants to ensure we achieve consistent quality time after time”. He revealed that the company is committed to local content development which ensures that the local managers are trained and certified in modern brewing technology.
Meanwhile, in his remark on the awards received by Trophy Lager and Grand Malt, the Marketing Director Nigeria for SABMiller, Mr. Chris Wulff-Caeser said the most important achievement for these brands is the testimonies of satisfied consumers. He said the Marketing division will continue to work closely with the Production and Quality Assurance teams in ensuring that the brands deliver on their promises to the consumers
