Timberland reveals yesterday his earlier rift with Jay-Z and drug addiction

Jay Z and Timberland.

Hip Hop super producer Timberland has revealed that he and Jay-Z had a falling out after the recording of Jay-Z’s 2009 album Blueprint 3. Timberland who produced most of the records on Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail album said the reason for their disagreement was personal and not over industry or music issues. ‘It was over petty stuff. It was more personal stuff, disagreements. It was not no industry-related. It was more personal and I was wrong. I was wrong. When I was working with Justin [Timberlake on his The 20/20 Experience album], he sent me a text. ‘We need to talk. We need to hook back up’ says Timberland. The pair finally saw during Jay-Z’s series of concerts at the Barclays Arena and made up.
During his conflict with Jay-Z, Timberland confessed he was addicted to oxycontin. ‘I was popping pills’ he admits. Jay-Z and Timberland have been collaborating since the 90’s. Together they produced some of the biggest rap songs such as ‘Dirt Off Your Shoulder’ and ‘Big Pimpin’.
